Man Injured After Crashing SUV Into Utility Pole In North Lindenhurst, Police Say

A 37-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after crashing an SUV into a utility pole on Long Island.

The crash happened in North Lindenhurst at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

SCPD said a 2017 Infiniti QX7, driven by a Lindenhurst man, was traveling south on Wellwood Avenue when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The Infiniti crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a utility pole near 756 Wellwood Ave., police said.

The man was taken to a hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries, SCPD reported.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. 

Authorities asked anyone with information about the crash to call police at 631-854-8152.
